This is ... Géraldine Danon!

An adventurer at heart, Géraldine Danon didn’t hesitate to take a well deserved break from her successful acting career to travel the world with her husband Philippe Poupon, one of the greatest navigators of our times, and their children, on their boat “Fleur Australe”.
Géraldine has long been passionate about St Barth, and this ever since she set foot on the island for the first time at age 5. We are thrilled to be interviewing her today to discuss St Barth through her eyes...

Géraldine, how and when did you discover St Barth?
-
I came to St Barth for the first time when I was five years old. My father, who was a movie producer had an important meeting with the legendary Lino Ventura, who was staying at The Sereno Hotel. It was 1974.

-
St Barth is ________ ? (one word, please)
-
My Home.

Would you liken yourself most to a “laid-back iguana”, a “hungry barracuda” or an “athletic goat”? ;)
-
I am a combination of all three, it depends on the day or the time of day :)
-
-
What is your favorite place on the island?
-
I love Washing Machine at Grand Fond. I enjoy seeing the waves crash furiously along the wild coast.

Can you share a moment in St Barth you will always remember?
-
Every moment in St Barth is a little jewel, and that is why I have chosen to live here. For sure, I will always remember the first time I landed on the island with my father... Another special moment, many years later, was to stay with Mikhail Barychnikov at his Mexican Villa after we had been on a film set for many weeks. It was in July and St Barth was so quiet at the time. This is when I discovered a truly unique side to St Barth. The untouched, raw, wild side of St Barth.

When did you buy your first Pati de St Barth t-shirt? Do you still have it? (Don’t worry if you don’t have one… but we’ll have to send you one!)
-
Oh, it's hard to remember, but surely a long time ago. They now belong to my son, and those that were my son's go to my grand-daughters, because they are timeless and unique like St Barth, and last forever. When I am traveling away from my island, I am reminded of how much I love St Barth through my Pati de St Barth T-shirts.
